Barbara A. Winkler, 92, of Streator passed away Friday, September 16, 2022 at the Streator-Villas of Holly Brook and Reflections Memory Care, Streator.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, September 23, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Michael the Archangel Church, Streator. Msgr. Philip Halfacre will officiate.
Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. Friday, September 23, 2022 at St. Michael the Archangel Church, Streator.
Burial will be in St. Anthony Cemetery, Streator. Pallbearers will be family members.
Born October 5, 1929 in Streator she was the daughter of Theodore and Margaret (Nowag) Winkler.
She is survived by sisters, “Margaret” Rose Benner of Streator; nieces and nephews, Carol (Andy) Varney of Springfield, Kevin (Jennifer) Kaschke of St. Charles, Julie Rashid of Streator, Mike (Kim) Kaschke of Streator, Rebecca (Tony) Wilhelm of Arlington Heights, Angie (Brian) Liptak of Wauconda, Janice (Tom) Green of Streator, Sharon (Brad) Orban of Streator, Deborah (Mike) Cavanagh of Mt. Prospect, Amy (Mike) Foley of Osh Kosh, Wisconsin and Ann Ungvarsky of Ireland; many great nieces and nephews also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Mary Ann Kaschke, Helen Winkler, Rita Ungvarsky, a nephew, Stephen Kaschke; and a great nephew, Theodore Kaschke.
She attended the Jacksonville School of the Deaf for many years. She also attended Elgin Business College. She was also involved with the WATCH program through her church.
Over the years, Barbara worked for Streator Taylor Company and Abby Garment Company.
She was a life member of the former St. Anthony Church and currently belonged to St. Michael the Archangel Parish. She was also a member of the Altar and Rosary Society of her church.
