BATAVIA, IL — With Batavia High School’s Homecoming Parade a week out, police are reminding residents of increased congestion and closed streets Sept. 14.

The parade route remains the same as last year. The procession will start at 5 p.m. following about 45 minutes of staging at the high school’s Wilson Street lot. From there, the parade will travel south on Lincoln Street, go west on Main Street and return to Batavia High School’s Main Street lot.

Since West Wilson Street and Main Street, west of Route 31, will be subject to temporary road closures, all traffic along those streets will be rerouted to McKee Street or Fabyan Parkway to the north or Route 56 in North Aurora to the south, according to Batavia police. Drivers needing to get to Randall Road from downtown Batavia will also be directed to McKee Street or Fabyan Parkway.
