Enjoy the milder weather this morning because colder weather is arriving soon. The weather will turn mild again later in the weekend but that won’t last too long either. Wintry weather is hanging on for a while.
Today: Plenty of clouds with a small chance of light rain or drizzle well south and east of Marathon county. A few flurries also possible in the afternoon.

It will feel a little like Spring this morning with temperatures in the 30s then a northwest wind will develop around midday and bring in some cooler air. By late afternoon, temps will fall into the 20s. A cold front is moving through Northcentral Wisconsin and this will also bring a chance of light showers or spotty drizzle to areas south and east of Marathon county. A few flurries could develop later in the afternoon as the colder air moves in.
The north wind will continue tonight and tomorrow, making it feel a lot colder. Highs on Thursday will be in the teens under partly cloudy skies. With some clearing Thursday night, low temps will drop down to the -5 to -10 range by daybreak Friday morning. The wind will pick up again on Friday and there is a chance of light snow in the afternoon. As of now, it looks like a dusting up to an inch could fall in from Wausau on south. In the Northwoods there could be 1 to 3 inches. Highs on Friday should reach the low to mid 20s.
A strong northwest wind will again bring in cold air Friday night and it will remain a bit chilly on Saturday. Temps will be in the teens during the afternoon before rising into the low 20s during the evening. The temperature rise will continue Saturday night and by Sunday it will feel like Spring again with highs in the mid to upper 30s.
Some storminess developing in the middle of the country on Monday and Tuesday could end up affecting or area. As of now, it looks like at least a 40% chance of snow on Monday and Tuesday. Some accumulation could occur – enough to cause a little trouble. Along with the chance of snow, temps will cool down into the 20s early next week.

Readings of 31.00 inches at Milwaukee WI and 30.98 inches at Rockford IL tied their all-time records. Unseasonably warm weather prevailed across the southeastern U.S. Highs of 81 degrees at Athens GA, 87 degrees at Charleston SC, 85 degrees at Macon GA, and 86 degrees at Savannah GA were records for February.
