Douglas Pokorny, age 75 of Aurora, formerly of Naperville, passed away peacefully, Friday, March 25, 2022 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born March 1, 1947 in Elmhurst, IL to his loving late parents, John and Mary Pokorny. Cherished husband of 55 years to Marie Pokorny. Beloved father of Anita Pokorny, Doug (Ariann Hinz) Pokorny, David (Christine) Pokorny, Michael (Elizabeth Norton) Pokorny, Barbara (Kurt) Bonnet and the late Andrew Pokorny. Adored grandfather of Julia and Hannah Pokorny, Delia, Katelyn, and Evan Bonnet, and Maeve Pokorny. Dearest brother of Barbara (the late Ronald) Heatley, Donald (Mary) Pokorny, the late Carol (the late Pablo) Pepin and the late Lynda (Tom) McHugh. Douglas spent his career as a CRNA at Edward Hospital and Central DuPage Hospital, retiring in 2008. Doug had many, many hobbies and interests.
