NAPERVILLE, IL — A family of four safely escaped without injuries after a blaze broke out on the back deck of their home on Claymore Lane Wednesday morning.
Residents called the Naperville Fire Department and evacuated the home in the 30W100 block of Claymore Lane after going downstairs and seeing the flames from the fire through their window. Firefighters got to the scene just after 7 a.m. and were able to extinguish the blaze within approximately 10 minutes, a news release said. The quick response helped fire crews limit the damage to the house’s exterior.
The house was deemed to be habitable and the cause of the fire is currently under investigation. It is estimated that the property sustained $20,000 in damage.
