James (Jim) Earl Dunbar, 58, of Machesney Pk., Il., passed away on January 30th, 2022 surrounded by his family. He was born in Rockford Il. on April 24th 1963 to Dan and Joyce (Ackerson) Dunbar. Jim attended Harlem schools. He was a lifelong self-employed carpenter until he semi-retired in 2020, when he began working at Pneumatic Cylinders & Couplers of Machesney Pk. He enjoyed fishing, riding his Harley, listening to music, drinking his coffee and partying with family and friends. He had a unique personality, a heart of gold and was definitely one of a kind. He was an active member of AA and spent the last two years recovered and helping others. A special thanks to Curtis “Cowboy” and the rest of his AA family. He is survived by his wife of forty years, Michele, sons Jeff (Melissa), Jake (Ciara) and Jimmie (Alina) Dunbar, grandchildren Jaden, Jayleigh, Joslynn, Trevor and Quell, sister Jayne (Monty) Kenny of Beloit, Wi., numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and longtime friends Jim Hunt, Lenny Paluzzi, Mark Aniszewski and Tom Lones. Predeceased by parents and grandparents. He will always be loved and remembered by those who knew him. A celebration of life will be held on Feb. 26th, 2022 from 11:00 – 4:00 at SM&SF Club, 1010 Sandy Hollow Rd, Rockford, Il..Thanks for all the memories, hold down the fort ’til we get there! Love you.
