Pat Mudron Gets Kicked Off Joliet City Council Committee

JOLIET, IL — As all of the members of the Joliet City Council were in attendance, Joliet Mayor Bob O’Dekirk let everyone know that he has decided to kick Councilman Pat Mudron off the Council’s finance committee. Heading into Tuesday night’s meeting, Mudron was serving as the finance committee chairman.

During the new business portion of the meeting, O’Dekirk remarked: “Let me get this out of the way. Councilman Mudron, in light of recent revelations that have come forward regarding some of the financial transactions that you made on behalf of your business with either government entities or with entities that get money from the city, I don’t think it’s proper at this point to keep you as chairman of the finance committee.”

O’Dekirk said he would promote someone else on the committee to serve as the new chairman.

Joliet Patch has broken three exclusive stories this summer regarding Mudron obtaining contracts for his insurance company, Mudron Kane, and then keeping quiet about them so that other elected officials and managers at Joliet’s City Hall were in the dark about his financial dealings.

Mudron’s two current contracts are with the Rialto Square Theatre, as well as the Joliet Area Historical Museum.

Illinois Attorney General Kwame Raoul and his staff are now considering whether to pursue criminal charges against Mudron, following an investigation led by Joliet’s inspector general, attorney Sean Connolly and private investigator Martin Walsh, from Westmont.
