School Threat Made At Timber Ridge Middle School: Joliet PD Reveal

JOLIET, IL — Joliet police said that all students and staff are now safe after being evacuated from the Timber Ridge Middle School on Bronk Road because of an unspecified threat made to the school. Police made the announcement of the incident shortly after 2 p.m. on the Facebook page, calling it an “active incident.”

By 3 p.m., Joliet police said that there was no indication of any shooter and no known injuries.

Joliet police said that officers searching the school property and the search was continuing during the 2 p.m. hour. People were urged to avoid the Bronk Road area at this time.

“More information will be released once it becomes available,” police announced.

District 202 Director of Community Relations Tom Hernandez said building staff immediately evacuated students to nearby River View Elementary School, and that school staff are working with police.

He said the threat came at 1:50 p.m. “Everyone is safe, and this is all the info we have from the police to share at this time,” Hernandez said in a statement sent to the media.
