JOLIET, IL — A 50-year-old Joliet man is no longer in the Will County Jail in connection with Friday evening’s arrest by Joliet police on two domestic violence related charges.
Officers arrested Ulises Suzana, who lives in the 3700 block of Sumac Drive, on charges of domestic battery and interfering with the reporting of domestic violence.
Squad cars pulled up to Suzana’s house shortly before 6 p.m. after learning that a woman in Suzana’s family was attacked by him, according to police reports.

“During an argument, Suzana struck the victim in the face and head,” police announced. “The victim attempted to call 911, but Suzana then pushed the victim down and grabbed her phone. The victim was able to escape and call 911 from a different phone.”
The victim was not injured, according to police. Officers arrested Suzana at his property.

Will County Jail records indicate that Suzana was released from county custody around 4:10 p.m. Saturday after posting 10 percent of his $5,000 bail.
